this, along with Lord Zado's 'unlockable armour' suggestion are two of the best ideas ive seen on these forums.

Great idea, and sorry if its been posted (only read OP's post), but we should be able to then save it as an armour template (much like the skills templates and the pvp-armour templates)

I had a similar idea of my own awhile back where basically you could buy 1 armor set, and use it much like the weapon sets......You basically have 1 armor set, and you have rune/insignia sets. That you could change much like weapon sets. I never posted about it, but its basically just like this, but I think you should be able to change it in PvE area's, after all, you can change your armor in PvE area's right now.
Anyway......

Tempting as it may be, I'll vote against this idea. Armors are one of the rare money sinks in the game, so we need to buy multiple armors. However to balance this, I'd like some sort of armor storage with one slot *per complete armor*.

Do you realize that you need a petition numbers to possibly reach the size of at least 1/3 of the game population which is now 1 million players for Anet to consider it seriously? Just because 200 or so people on a forum think it's a good idea doesn't necesarilly account for the other millions of players. No offense.

This seems so dumb. If you want to buy different armor skins, you're not limited there. Go ahead there's your money sink. If you want functionality in a game based upon skill, not grind, the I think this idea is definitely what's needed.
Wretchman Drake, you don't literally need that many people, since not everyone who plays Guild Wars comes to this forum, and heck they might like the idea but not even know about this thread. I think it's safe to say that unless someone gives a perfectly legitimate reason for this being a bad idea, it should be put in plain and simple. It's one of the things that should have been in a long time ago, not to mention this would be able to make Razah not suck so damn much.

Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated.
Thanks for the support, Kai Nui.
In reply to Wretchman Drake, thanks for your support, and for the record, check out this link:
Alliance Battles: Quitting and Staying
It was posted after the initial preview of the 12 vs 12 Alliance Battles, in the end, option 6 was implemented into the final release of Guild Wars : Factions
Quote:
6. Accelerated victory (by Jag Mountaintop)
- if one side holds all 7 control points
- continuously for 1 or 2 minutes
(Jag Mountaintop: "Call it a mercy rule. I have seen a team come back from a 5-2 deficit, but I have yet to see a team even take a single control point after losing all 7.")
|
Another one worth mentioning is this:
[Petition] Profession Changer ~ Guild Hall & Hero window [H]
Thanks to Kai Nui for bringing it up in the first place.
There are many more examples, one that I can recall is the abolishment of the refund points, it was a major issue brought up the community, ANET responded to it. Another one is pets with infused armor, originally, pets do not have infused armor and die to Mursaats rather quickly.
ANET listens.

/signed, with stipulations:
1: This should be a core change. ALL armor is retroactively made into inscribed with the appropriate inscription: Your Drok's Gladiator armor becomes <Radiant> Gladiator's Armor <of whatever>. I included "Gladiator's" in there so that each set of armor keeps its unique skin.
2: Skins should be separate from this change. If you want a fully functional set of armor, you only need to buy one set and unlock runes and insignias for it. If you want a new look, you need to craft a new set of armor. Armor skins still remain a gold sink, if you want multiple looks for a single character. They're just cosmetic, so leave them in as a way to remove gold.
As for the people wondering about runes: not being able to salvage runes or insignias from armor means fewer runes in circulation. I'm sure rune prices would eventually tank, but there would be a bubble for a while while everyone bought their radiant insignias for the armor sets they chose to keep, and the full rune sets for each piece of armor. After the bubble, rune prices would pretty much bottom out, which is really about where they are now...

Would be awesome for PvPers using PvE characters too, this way it would not be necessary to have multiple armor sets.
